Hello people!
First of all, I would like to apologize for the delay of this handover message. One year passed so quickly and without realising, it’s time for me to say goodbye. First of all I would like to thank all my committees for all the hard work that they put in for the past one year. Together leaving with me are Erik Wu (Vice President), Darrell Lee (Boys’ Captain), Teo Cui Yun (Secretary), Chen Ngee Ann (Treasurer). Once again, I would like to sincerely thank them who always give their utmost best, time and effort in managing SIM Badminton club and wish them all the best in their studies and careers.
Since now is the start of the new management, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them to be selected a pool of close to 200 members and approved by the SIM-Sports. Lets us welcome them and please give them your full support like you given to my management team. Here, I would like to introduce the management team 2009:

Vice President : Chan Wee Yang
Secretary : Michelle Tan
Treasurer : Perlin Chan
Events Manager : Samuel Koh
Events Executive : Liew Jun Liang
Logistic Manager : Low Sieu Chien
Marketing Manager : Lynne Soon
Webmaster : Tan Wei Yu
This club had always make me had mixed feelings. Before I took over the club, I asked question and doubted myself countless times before I accepted the offer. The day I accepted the offer, I do not know where and how to start. The day when everything runs, I began to ask myself how to improve the club. The last day I should hand over, I do not know how and when to end it as I start to realise that I actually miss the club, players, members, memories and everything. Lastly, while writing this final message, I smiled to myself recalling the things that we did together, unforgettable memories both happy and sad moments.
The busy days start in July when both leisure and team trainings started. Remember the time when the team players start training, together we endure the tough trainings, making shuttles together, supporting and motivating each other to continue on. The time when we handle court issues, communicating with players, unforgettable UiTM trip, MDIS and Marine Parade CC tournament, celebrating almost every player’s birthdays, taking bus together to eat supper, rushing to catch my last bus home with Lynne to the East, IVPs, Marina Barrage, Mt Faber, Pool Junction, East Coast park, our unforgettable Malaysia road trip, and etc (too many to say!!).
I am proudly delighted as the Men’s team won Gold in IVP 2009! Although the Women’s team didn’t manage to win anything, I am pleased to be part of the team and I am sorry I should win my match :(. I am looking forward that this year under the new management, you guys can achieve better results!!
Leisure on the other hand is not so easy to handle as I thought it should be. The hassle of court bookings, uncertainty of the number of members that are coming, pressure to make the members feel welcome in the club, difficultness of collecting money and not forgetting our night cycling trip, movie after leisure activity, Pool Junction, etc.
Here I would like to take this opportunity to bid farewell as the President of the SIM-Badminton Club 2008-2009, hope this year the club will grow bigger with more interesting activities that will create more friendship and bond between the members! I will try to come down for both Training and Leisure Session to help up (if you all don’t mind :)) unless I can’t make it anymore.. Last but not least, keep the Badminton fighting spirits and maintain the bond and friendship we always had. I will never forget you people and will always remember the time we spent together.
Signing off,
Herlienna Qisthi
